These are hand-turned (I do not use a duplicator), so there will be variation in the size and shape. Purchase of the chess set does not include the board. Each piece is weighted and the bottoms are lined with velvet for smooth play. All pieces are approximately 1.5 inches in diameter at the base (pawns are 1.25 inches). The approximate piece heights (in inches) are: pawn: 2.5, rook: 3.5, knight: 4, bishop: 4, queen: 4.5, king: 4.75. Slight variation is to be expected.
